Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Consultant

About the role

The Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Consultant provides senior, evidence‑based medical care to children requiring rehabilitation services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role combines clinical excellence with leadership, overseeing junior staff and contributing to quality improvement within a major Abu Dhabi hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise delivery of high‑quality pediatric rehabilitation care, ensuring evidence‑based diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up.
• Conduct comprehensive patient examinations, obtain histories, order and interpret investigations, prescribe therapies and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Oversee and mentor junior medical staff, including specialists, general practitioners and residents.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in multi‑disciplinary meetings to ensure holistic patient management.
• Participate in rotational on‑call coverage, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and comply with Department of Health and hospital policies.
• Engage in clinical audits, peer review and risk management initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification (MD, MS, DNB) and successful completion of a structured specialty training program (e.g., Board Certification, Royal College Fellowship) in rehabilitation medicine.
• 3–7 years of post‑specialty clinical experience in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Valid DOH licensing or eligibility to practice in the UAE.
• Demonstrated ability to lead clinical teams and deliver patient‑centred care.
