Postdoctoral Associate / Associate Research Scientist – Chemistry

About the role

The Healy Laboratory in the Chemistry Program at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking a Post‑doctoral Associate or an Associate Research Scientist to join a project developing an automated chemical platform for the synthesis and biological evaluation of natural‑product leads.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate an automated synthesis platform for complex natural products.
• Synthesize and characterize target molecules, with emphasis on polyketides.
• Conduct biological assays to evaluate drug‑discovery leads.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across chemistry, engineering, and biology.
• Document experimental procedures and contribute to scientific publications.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in chemistry or a related discipline (candidates within five years of Ph.D. for the post‑doctoral track; at least three years of independent research experience for the associate scientist track).
• Demonstrated experience in the synthesis of complex organic molecules, especially natural products or polyketides.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
