Principal Consultant – Red Team (Unit 42)

About the role

The Principal Consultant on the Offensive Security team will lead Red and Purple team engagements, assessing and challenging the security posture of a diverse client portfolio. This remote position enables you to work with cutting‑edge tools and collaborate across geographies while advocating for best‑in‑class offensive security practices.

Key responsibilities

• Perform client penetration testing using open‑source, custom, and commercial tools to uncover exploitable vulnerabilities.
• Scope engagements and communicate penetration approaches to technical and executive audiences.
• Generate detailed reports with findings, remediation recommendations, and executive summaries.
• Develop scripts, tools, and automation methodologies to streamline internal processes.
• Conduct periodic vulnerability scans, IT application testing, and hardware security assessments.
• Execute threat‑hunting and compromise‑assessment engagements using Crypsis and Palo Alto Networks threat‑hunting platforms.
• Lead cloud penetration testing for workloads on AWS, GCP, Azure, containers, and related environments.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading Red and Purple team engagements for enterprise clients.
• Strong ability to articulate security concepts to both technical teams and senior executives.
• Client‑focused mindset with a commitment to delivering actionable security recommendations.
• Self‑motivated and comfortable working in a fully remote environment.
