Principal Engineer - Stormwater / Hydrologist

About the role

The Principal Engineer – Stormwater / Hydrologist will lead hydrological and hydraulic modelling and storm‑water system design for a portfolio of confidential, multi‑disciplinary infrastructure programmes in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to senior management, you will provide technical leadership, ensure design quality and mentor junior engineers across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of hydrology and storm‑water models, analyses and designs for complex infrastructure projects.
• Define modelling methodologies, parameters and QA/QC processes throughout all project phases.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, notes and deliverables in accordance with RBG standards.
• Coordinate closely with civil, utilities, roads/highways and digital engineering disciplines.
• Support bid preparation, scope definition, delivery planning and risk management.
• Mentor engineers and technicians, raising the overall modelling capability of the team.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project scope, standards and programme timelines.
• Champion safety, sustainability, innovation and digital delivery in all design activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• Professional registration or chartership (or working towards it) is advantageous.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics or storm‑water design and modelling.
• Proven track record delivering complex, multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical leadership, quality management and stakeholder coordination skills.
