Project Director – Capital Gas Processing Project

About the role

We are seeking a senior Project Director to act as the owner’s representative for a high‑value gas processing plant within a large oil‑field development in Abu Dhabi. The role covers the full project lifecycle from FEED through EPC execution to commissioning, working closely with the CEO, lenders and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the project from FEED to commissioning, ensuring alignment with contractual, technical and safety requirements.
• Develop and manage the owner’s multidisciplinary team (engineering, procurement, EHS, inspection, etc.).
• Support legal and financial teams in defining the contracting strategy (EPC, EPCm, DBOOM).
• Oversee contract compliance, budget forecasting, risk mitigation and integrated schedule reporting.
• Champion a strong HSE culture and ensure strict compliance with all safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of experience delivering large capital projects ($500 M+), preferably in the Middle East.
• Proven track record managing EPC/EPCm/DBOOM contracts and delivering sour‑gas projects.
• Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management skills and ability to operate autonomously.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
