Project Engineer – Drilling Waste Management (DWM) Solids Control Equipment (SCE)

About the role

The Project Engineer will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of solids control equipment at well sites across Abu Dhabi. This role requires in‑depth knowledge of drilling fluids, waste management systems and the interaction between them.

Key responsibilities

• Install, rig‑up, operate and maintain solids control equipment such as shale shakers, centrifuges, desanders, desilters, high‑dryers and dewatering units on offshore and onshore rigs.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting on core technologies, conduct risk analyses (JSA) and ensure compliance with Quality, HSE and IT standards.
• Provide technical support and audits during drilling operations, supervise field service technicians and deliver training to customers.
• Collect and validate daily data, prepare solids control reports and monitor discharge volumes (skips, ISOs, etc.).

Required profile

• Valid HSE certification and ability to wear required PPE.
• Physical strength to perform heavy manual labour for extended periods.
• Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions and to work independently in remote locations.

Required skills

• Operation and maintenance of shale shakers, centrifuges, desanders, desilters, high‑dryers, dewatering equipment and screw conveyors.
• Electrical safety knowledge, lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and grounding techniques for high‑ and low‑voltage equipment.
• Drilling fluid testing, calibration of testing equipment and basic mud‑engineer coordination.
• Knowledge of API screen classifications, hydro‑cyclone performance parameters and centrifuge calculations (G‑force, differential, discharge rate).
