Project Engineer – Retail Store Design

About the role

Al Tayer Insignia is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of luxury retail, lifestyle, beauty and home concepts. You will work closely with senior project managers and a range of stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement project programmes on‑site in an organised, cost‑effective, and timely manner.
• Coordinate procurement schedules, source materials efficiently and maintain quality standards.
• Liaise with architects, mall management, consultants, contractors and clients to obtain approvals and ensure smooth execution.
• Manage on‑site contractors, monitor progress and provide regular updates on milestones and challenges.
• Resolve technical and engineering issues, manage design changes and ensure compliance with approved plans.
• Conduct quality inspections, handle variations, progress billing and final invoicing.
• Oversee project handovers, including as‑built drawings, operating manuals, completion certificates and close‑out procedures.
• Ensure health and safety requirements are fully implemented across all project sites.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing retail, construction, fit‑out or engineering projects from planning through completion.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across multiple parties simultaneously.
• Solid understanding of procurement, contractor management, quality control and health & safety regulations.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective communication, organisation and coordination skills.
