Recreation Supervisor – Club Operations

About the role

The Recreation Supervisor will lead the day‑to‑day operations of the club’s recreational facilities, ensuring a safe, clean and engaging environment for members and guests. Reporting to the Assistant Country Club Manager, you will oversee multiple guest‑facing teams and act as Duty Manager when senior management is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Manage opening and closing procedures and ensure operational readiness across all recreation areas.
• Maintain facilities to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and functionality.
• Supervise teams including Little Acres Kids Club, Lifeguards, Reception and Housekeeping.
• Act as Duty Manager, handling member experience, incident management and emergency response.
• Lead, motivate and develop staff through coaching, briefings and performance management.
• Identify training needs and implement initiatives to enhance capability.
• Plan and execute recreational programs, activities and events to drive member engagement.
• Support revenue generation through upselling, promotions and utilisation‑focused initiatives.
• Monitor facility utilisation, member feedback and operational performance, providing actionable insights.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations, including risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate operational records, incident reports and performance data.
• Assist with scheduling, rostering and ad‑hoc operational tasks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within hospitality, leisure or recreation.
• Strong leadership, team management and operational coordination abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a guest‑focused mindset.
• High attention to detail, proactive problem‑solving and calmness under pressure.
• Experience managing multi‑department teams and analysing performance data.

Required skills

• First Aid certification (desirable).
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
