Registered Midwife – Antenatal & Labour Care

About the role

The Registered Midwife will deliver patient‑centred, evidence‑based care to antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum women, as well as neonates, within a multidisciplinary team at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital. The role ensures compliance with ethical standards, regulatory requirements and company policies while fostering a safe and supportive environment for patients and families.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality care to antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum women and newborns in line with clinical standards and legislation.
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety, following clinical risk policies.
• Create a positive patient and family experience by maintaining a conducive environment under nursing leadership guidance.
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive records of all nursing interventions according to company and legal standards.
• Mentor, supervise and coach learners and nursing staff to build competence and a learning culture.
• Utilise stock and equipment efficiently in accordance with Mediclinic guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery.
• Minimum two years recent experience in a labour and delivery unit.

Required skills

• Computer literacy with Microsoft Suite.
