School Librarian – UAE National (Dubai)

About the role

The School Librarian will lead the development and administration of the school library program in Dubai. This full‑time position focuses on providing library services, resources, and instructional support to students and staff while ensuring a conducive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and manage the library program and policies in collaboration with the Principal.
• Promote the use of library and media resources among students and staff.
• Administer the library’s annual budget, handle requisitions, and keep accurate expense records.
• Provide statistical reports on library usage as requested.
• Create an attractive, quiet, and hygienic library atmosphere, enforcing a no‑food‑or‑drink policy.
• Organise library space, furniture, equipment and resources for effective learning.
• Manage library technology in line with school instructional goals.
• Coordinate book fairs, student book exchange programmes and periodical circulation.
• Support curriculum delivery by handling teacher’s editions, CDs, and other instructional materials.
• Assist teachers and students with research, resource selection and instructional activities.

Required profile

• UAE national (as stated in the title).
• Experience in planning, developing and administering a school library program.
• Ability to collaborate with school leadership and academic staff.
• Strong organisational skills for budgeting, resource management and event coordination.
