Senior Avian Curator

About the role

Miral Experiences is seeking a Senior Avian Curator to lead the strategic direction, management and development of its bird collection. Based in Al Ain, you will ensure the avian program meets the highest international zoological standards while supporting conservation, education, research and guest engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for all avian programs, including welfare, husbandry, breeding and behavioral management.
• Develop and implement long‑term collection plans, population management strategies and conservation breeding initiatives.
• Oversee staff development, training and performance within the avian team.
• Manage budgets, resource allocation and facility development for avian habitats.
• Ensure operational safety, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of animal‑care practices.
• Contribute to departmental and organisational strategic planning.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in avian zoology or animal care, preferably in a senior leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive strategic projects.
• Strong commitment to animal welfare, conservation and evidence‑based practice.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and public engagement.
