About the role

The Senior Charge Nurse/Unit Manager leads the Emergency Room team at SSMC, ensuring 24/7 delivery of safe, compassionate, and high‑quality patient care. This senior nursing position is accountable for translating the hospital’s vision, mission, and values into daily operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate and evaluate operational, fiscal and personnel activities for the Emergency Room.
• Manage the unit’s total budget and allocate resources efficiently.
• Collect and analyse data on unit performance, identify trends, and develop improvement strategies.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary healthcare resources and collaborate with dyad/triad partners.
• Promote health education, health‑promotion initiatives and evaluate outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with nursing administration standards and hospital policies.
• Foster shared decision‑making and lead staff performance management.
