Senior Commissioning Manager

About the role

KBR is seeking a Senior Commissioning Manager to lead on‑site commissioning activities for a large‑scale EPC project in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on the sales gas and condensate areas of a petrochemical complex, ensuring that all systems are ready for safe and efficient operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the commissioning and operation‑readiness team, coordinating EPC contractors, sub‑contractors, licensors and vendors.
• Review and approve pre‑commissioning and commissioning procedures, manuals, and mechanical completion certificates.
• Monitor progress of commissioning activities, resolve technical obstacles, and ensure timely issuance of MC and RFSU certificates.
• Oversee punch‑list closure and hand‑over documentation to guarantee contractual compliance.
• Participate in commissioning meetings, troubleshooting sessions, and interface with the client on progress reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mandatory).
• Minimum 25 years of experience in commissioning/operation‑readiness, preferably in the GCC region.
• At least 5 years in senior commissioning roles on oil & gas or petrochemical projects, with exposure to sour‑gas, hydrogen production and hydro‑desulfurization.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex EPC interfaces.
