Senior Consultant General Surgeon – UAE

About the role

A leading, internationally accredited healthcare provider in the UAE is expanding its general, laparoscopic and emergency surgical services. The organisation seeks a highly skilled Consultant General Surgeon to join a multidisciplinary clinical team, offering strong clinical exposure and the chance to work in a modern, quality‑driven environment serving a diverse international patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage elective and emergency general surgery patients.
• Perform open and laparoscopic procedures within the scope of specialty and facility privileges.
• Provide peri‑operative care, complication management, ward rounds and outpatient follow‑up.
• Collaborate with anaesthesia, ICU, radiology, gastroenterology, oncology and emergency teams.
• Contribute to surgical pathways, theatre efficiency, infection prevention and patient safety programmes.
• Maintain accurate consent forms, operative notes, discharge summaries and clinical documentation.

Required profile

• Internationally trained consultant general surgeon with recognised specialist qualification (e.g., American Board of Surgery, UK CCT/FRCS, European Board, Royal College Canada, Australian FRACS, Arab Board, MS/DNB/FCPS or equivalent).
• Eligibility to practice in the UAE and ability to obtain required licensing.
• Experience working in a high‑volume, multi‑disciplinary hospital setting.
