Senior Consultant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join Virtusa’s data analytics team in the United Arab Emirates. In this role you will translate business requirements into robust data models, data marts and visual dashboards that support informed decision‑making across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct business discovery sessions to capture and clarify data requirements.
• Collaborate with system support, DBA and MIS teams to design and implement data marts and reports.
• Prepare detailed data‑mapping documents for each layer of the data platform (raw‑bronze, EDM‑silver, project‑gold).
• Support data engineers, modelers, QA testers and Power BI developers throughout project lifecycles.
• Work with developers, analysts and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in SQL and Python; experience with SAS, R or Spark is a plus.
• Deep understanding of distributed processing frameworks, especially Apache Spark.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, including storage, compute and data integration services.
• Knowledge of data‑modeling, schema design, partitioning and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with structured and semi‑structured formats (JSON, Parquet, Avro, XML) and data‑governance best practices.
