Senior Instrumentation Engineer (Oil & Gas EPC)

About the role

Emirates Electrical & Instrumentation Company LLC, a member of the Ghobash Group, is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to lead detailed design and support offshore EPC projects for ADNOC and other Tier 1 EPC contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and review instrumentation detail design deliverables such as instrument index, datasheets, loop diagrams, hook‑ups, cable schedules, I/O lists and cause‑effect matrices.
• Develop and review P&IDs, control philosophies and design basis for offshore facilities, ensuring compliance with client specifications, IEC, ISA, API, ISO standards and hazardous area requirements.
• Specify, size and select instruments (flow, level, pressure, temperature, analyzers, control valves, PSVs, F&G devices) and support SIL studies (HAZOP, LOPA, SIL verification).
• Manage vendor documentation, attend kick‑off meetings, FATs and expedite technical queries, while providing site engineering support during construction, installation, loop checks, pre‑commissioning and commissioning.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, monitor progress, man‑hours and budget, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics or Control Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years of oil & gas experience, with substantial offshore EPC project exposure.
• Proven hands‑on site experience covering construction support, loop checking, pre‑commissioning and commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of DCS, ESD, F&G systems, hazardous area classification and SIL concepts.

Required skills

• Instrumentation design software: SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI/INtools) and AutoCAD.
• Development of P&IDs, control philosophies and instrument datasheets.
• Experience with SIL analysis, HAZOP and LOPA studies.
• Familiarity with international standards IEC, ISA, API, ISO.
