Senior Operational Key Account Manager

About the role

The Senior Operational Key Account Manager is responsible for overseeing logistics operations for strategic defence and government clients in air and sea freight. The role ensures seamless coordination of transportation, warehousing, compliance and client satisfaction while supporting business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end logistics for key defence/government accounts, including air and sea freight forwarding, customs clearance and warehouse coordination.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with defence clients to ensure long‑term partnership and high satisfaction.
• Coordinate with internal teams (operations, customer service, finance, compliance) to guarantee timely and accurate delivery.
• Monitor KPIs, SLAs and operational metrics, taking corrective actions when required.
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, export control and company policies.
• Handle client escalations, providing solutions and acting as the main liaison.
• Support continuous‑improvement projects to optimise processes, reduce costs and enhance service quality.
• Prepare regular performance reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in air and sea freight operations, especially for defence or government customers.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex tenders and oversized projects such as charters and break‑bulk shipments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and negotiation skills.

• Customs clearance and export/import control.
• Logistics software (WMS, TMS, ERP).
• Sea freight and air freight operations.
• Warehouse coordination and inventory management.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
