Senior Project Manager – Design (Buildings)

About the role

GHD is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager – Design Management to lead design delivery of complex building and property projects in Abu Dhabi. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with local regulations, and drive projects from concept through completion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the design process across building and property projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants to deliver high‑quality, timely outputs.
• Oversee design reviews, approvals, and compliance with local authority requirements such as ADM and ADWEA.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and change‑control processes.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including clients, contractors, and government entities.
• Support pre‑contract and post‑contract phases, including technical evaluations and tender documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in design management for buildings and property developments, preferably in the UAE or GCC region.
• Proven track record managing design for high‑rise, mixed‑use, commercial, or institutional buildings.
• Strong understanding of local authority processes and permitting requirements.
• PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination abilities.
