Senior Solutions Architect – Pre‑Sales (MENA)

About the role

Planet is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect II to showcase the value of its Earth observation data platform to customers across the Middle East and North Africa. The role combines pre‑sales engineering, customer consulting, and collaboration with internal product and sales teams, and involves frequent travel throughout the region.

Key responsibilities

• Use consultative techniques to uncover customer pain points and quantify business needs.
• Build and deliver presentations and solution demos highlighting Planet’s technical capabilities.
• Develop relationships with technical and managerial stakeholders as a trusted advisor.
• Assist with tenders, RFIs and RFPs, providing product and solution information.
• Work with sales colleagues to create account development plans and execute engagement strategies.
• Represent customer feedback to product and business development teams.
• Achieve quarterly and annual sales and operational targets.

Required profile

• 10+ years experience with governments and commercial clients in Earth Observation within the Middle East.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Ability to travel up to 50% internationally, primarily in the MENA region.
• Fluent in Arabic and proficient in English.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• GIS and remote sensing expertise.
• Experience with IMINT, ISR and related fields.
• Proficiency in QGIS, SocetGXP, ArcGIS, GDAL.
• Python programming for imagery processing, API interaction and data pipelines.
