Senior Specialist Consultant - Neurosurgeon

About the role

A prestigious Government Healthcare Facility in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist / Consultant – Neurosurgeon to join its highly skilled surgical team. The role offers the chance to provide advanced neurosurgical care, manage complex cases, and contribute to clinical excellence within a well‑established government environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat and follow‑up patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
• Perform complex neurosurgical procedures, both elective and emergency.
• Manage brain, spinal, cranial and peripheral nerve cases, including pre‑operative assessment and post‑operative care.
• Collaborate with neurologists, neuroradiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, oncologists and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in surgical rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate patient records and surgical documentation.
• Teach, train, supervise and mentor junior medical staff.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Neurosurgery (e.g., UK CCT, American Board, Australian Board, South African Board).
• Significant post‑specialty clinical experience in neurosurgery.
• Proven ability to manage complex and high‑risk neurological cases.
• Strong clinical judgment, surgical decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
