Specialist Consultant Acute Medicine Physician – Government Sector, UAE

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Specialist/Consultant Acute Medicine Physician to join a leading government healthcare facility in Dubai. The role involves rapid assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with acute and complex medical conditions within a multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage acute medical presentations, including undifferentiated and complex cases.
• Provide timely treatment for acute exacerbations of chronic conditions and medical emergencies.
• Coordinate care with emergency, intensive care, specialty and surgical teams.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on current clinical guidelines.
• Perform clinical procedures within scope of training and expertise.
• Participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings and handovers.
• Support safe admission, discharge planning and continuity of care.
• Contribute to education, mentoring, audit and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Acute Medicine, Internal Medicine or related specialty.
• Specialist or Consultant‑level clinical experience managing acutely ill patients.
• UK CCT, American Board, Australian Board, South African Board or equivalent Western qualification.
• Strong clinical decision‑making and patient‑management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
