Specialist Critical Care (ICU/CCU)

About the role

Al Sharq Healthcare is seeking an experienced Specialist Critical Care to join its 100‑bed JCI‑accredited hospital in Dibba Al Fujairah. The successful candidate will provide advanced care for critically ill adult patients in the ICU/CCU, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality, safe treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage critically ill adult patients in the ICU.
• Provide advanced life support and critical care for medical, surgical and sepsis cases.
• Perform critical care procedures such as intubation, central venous catheter insertion, arterial line placement, bronchoscopy and ventilator management.
• Lead multidisciplinary ICU rounds and coordinate patient management plans.
• Collaborate with emergency medicine, anesthesiology, surgery, pulmonology, cardiology and other specialties.
• Supervise junior physicians, residents and ICU staff where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with ICU protocols, infection control and patient safety standards.
• Participate in rapid response teams, code‑blue management and hospital emergency preparedness.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in line with MOH UAE regulations.
• Engage in research, quality improvement initiatives, audits and CME activities.

Required profile

• Higher Professional Degree or Specialty certificate recognized by the UAE Ministry of Health.
• Western qualification such as American Board, Canadian Board, UK Membership/Fellowship or equivalent to Arab Board.
• Active DHA/MOH/DOH specialist license or eligibility with a positive Dataflow report.
• Minimum of 5 years of post‑qualification experience in critical care.
