Specialist - Emergency Medicine

About the role

The Royal Khalifa City Hospital is seeking a qualified Specialist in Emergency Medicine to deliver high‑quality, ethical clinical care to patients in a fast‑paced emergency environment. The role involves rapid decision‑making, coordination with consultants, and adherence to clinical governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide immediate assessment and treatment for emergency cases, determining urgency and initiating rapid care.
• Examine in‑patients on wards/ICU and render urgent judgments when required.
• Advise nursing staff on medical issues and respond to remote calls for medical advice.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and ensure timely reporting to health authorities.
• Participate in on‑call emergency coverage, ambulance trips, and shift work as scheduled.
• Support continuous quality improvement, infection control, patient safety, and compliance with HAAD, JCI, and ISO standards.
• Attend departmental meetings, ward rounds, and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Medical specialist credentialed in Emergency Medicine with appropriate privileges.
• Demonstrated ability to manage clinical risks and uphold ethical standards.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
• Willingness to work all scheduled shifts and provide on‑call emergency coverage.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in emergency triage, patient assessment, and rapid decision‑making.
• Accurate medical documentation and record‑keeping.
