Speciality Service Doctor – Aviation Medicine

About the role

The Speciality Service Doctor – Aviation Medicine provides high‑quality, evidence‑based medical care to Emirates Group employees and their dependents, ensuring health, safety and operational continuity in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide roster‑based clinical assessments and management for staff and dependents, supporting timely return to work.
• Conduct fitness‑to‑work assessments for aircrew, engineers and managers in line with DHA and GCAA regulations.
• Deliver evidence‑based care, including prescribing, ordering laboratory and radiology investigations and arranging specialist referrals.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and uphold clinical governance, quality improvement and infection‑control standards.
• Manage complex fitness‑for‑work cases, prepare reports for medical boards and act as an escalation point for colleagues.
• Develop expertise in aviation medicine and provide clinical direction to optimise resource utilisation and reduce financial burden.
• Contribute to teaching and training of medical students during clinical attachments.

Required profile

• Medical degree with full registration to practise in the UAE.
• Specialist qualification or experience in aviation medicine.
• Knowledge of Dubai Health Authority and General Civil Aviation Authority medical standards.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
