Staff Nurse – ICU (Intensive Care Unit)

About the role

The Staff Nurse – ICU provides direct and indirect age‑specific care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit on scheduled shifts. The role involves comprehensive nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation and coordination of care across the healthcare continuum, ensuring patient safety and professional performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform continuous critical‑care assessments of patients and families, addressing physical and psychological needs.
• Develop, revise and prioritize individualized care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Document all relevant patient data in accordance with hospital and Joint Commission International standards.
• Maintain availability and proper functioning of supplies, equipment and medication, including safe handling of narcotic/controlled drugs.
• Participate in unit meetings, committees, continuous quality‑improvement activities and mandatory education programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (minimum 3‑year program) or equivalent degree (minimum 2‑year program).
• Registered Nurse licensure in home country and a valid license to practice in the UAE.
• Minimum two years recent post‑graduate experience in an ICU or Pediatric ICU.
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• For non‑UAE graduates, successful completion of six months clinical training in an APS health facility.
