Staff Nurse – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)

About the role

The Staff Nurse in Tower D5’s Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at SSMC provides comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients. The role involves direct patient care, education, and coordination of transitions, ensuring adherence to the organization’s mission, vision and professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyze comprehensive assessment data (physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, spiritual) to determine patient diagnoses and issues.
• Develop culturally appropriate individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team, using evidence‑based practices.
• Implement and document the plan of care, perform treatments and procedures, and administer medications according to organizational policies.
• Prioritize patient needs, identify risks, and modify care plans based on ongoing evaluation and patient response.
• Communicate relevant information across all levels of care and ensure accurate documentation in the patient health record.

Required profile

• Accountable for coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care and education.
• Commitment to the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
• Ability to work within the Nursing Scope of Practice as defined by the regulatory body.
• Proficiency in evidence‑based assessment techniques and documentation standards.
