Staff Nurse - Medical & Surgical (STMC)

About the role

Provides age‑appropriate patient care in line with the Nursing Scope of Practice and promotes the mission, vision and values of the organization. Works within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high‑quality care and supports health education initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide age‑appropriate patient care in accordance with the Nursing Scope of Practice and organisational policies.
• Supervise and mentor practical nurses, junior staff and student nurses, acting as a preceptor and role model.
• Administer medications safely, monitor patient responses and report adverse drug reactions.
• Coordinate individualized care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure compliance with Ministry of Health and HA‑AD narcotic policies.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and use electronic medical records for information sharing.

Required profile

• Special nursing certificate with at least 2 years of clinical experience post‑qualification (experience waived for recent graduates of UAE nursing colleges).
• Demonstrated critical thinking, conflict management and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to professional development and adherence to the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi.
