Staff Nurse – OPD Surgical Ophthalmology Clinic

About the role

The Staff Nurse will provide coordinated nursing care in the OPD Surgical Ophthalmology Clinic, delivering direct patient care, education and smooth transitions across the care continuum. The role supports the mission, vision and values of SSMC while adhering to the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse comprehensive assessment data (physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, spiritual) to determine patient diagnoses and issues.
• Develop culturally appropriate, individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the healthcare team.
• Implement evidence‑based nursing interventions, perform treatments and procedures, and administer medications according to organizational policies.
• Document all aspects of the care plan, outcomes and modifications in the patient’s health record.
• Communicate relevant information across all levels of care and ensure continuity of care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Abu Dhabi/UAE.
• Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, quality standards and professional ethics.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
