Staff Nurse – Outpatient Department (OPD)

About the role

The Staff Nurse in the Outpatient Department (OPD) is responsible for coordinating nursing care, delivering direct patient care, providing education to patients and families, and ensuring smooth transitions of care. The role supports professional nursing practice across the continuum of care while upholding SSMC’s mission, vision and values.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse comprehensive assessment data—including physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs—to determine diagnoses and issues.
• Develop culturally appropriate, individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the healthcare team.
• Implement evidence‑based nursing interventions, perform treatments and procedures, and administer medications according to organisational policies.
• Document all aspects of the care plan, modifications and outcomes using standardized terminology.
• Communicate relevant information across all levels of care and ensure continuity of care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Abu Dhabi/UAE.
• Demonstrated ability to provide age‑appropriate patient care and education.
• Commitment to the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and diagnosis.

• Medication administration following protocols.
