Staff Nurse – Surgical Wing (Tower C6)

About the role

The Staff Nurse in Tower C6’s Surgical Wing at SSMC provides comprehensive, patient‑centred nursing care. The role involves direct bedside care, education of patients and families, and coordination of care transitions across the surgical continuum.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse comprehensive assessment data (physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, spiritual) to identify patient diagnoses and potential risks.
• Develop and regularly update individualized, culturally appropriate care plans in partnership with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Implement evidence‑based interventions, perform treatments and procedures, and administer medications in accordance with organisational policies.
• Document all assessments, plans, interventions and outcomes using standardized terminology and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Communicate relevant information across all levels of care, facilitating seamless coordination between departments.
• Promote the mission, vision and values of SSMC and adhere to the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Abu Dhabi/UAE.
• Demonstrated ability to provide age‑appropriate care and patient/family education.
• Strong commitment to evidence‑based practice and continuous quality improvement.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, families and healthcare team members.
• Understanding of the Nursing Scope of Practice and regulatory requirements.
