Staff Nurse – Tower A Ground NICU Wing

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides direct patient care, education and care coordination within the NICU wing at Tower A Ground. The role supports professional nursing practice across the continuum of care and aligns with the mission, vision and values of Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyse comprehensive assessment data (physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, spiritual) to determine patient diagnoses and issues.
• Prioritise patient needs, identify risks and develop culturally appropriate, evidence‑based care plans.
• Document assessments, diagnoses, outcomes and care plans using standardised terminology.
• Educate patients and families, facilitate smooth transitions of care and ensure continuity.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to modify care plans based on ongoing evaluation.
• Uphold the Professional Nurses Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of nursing experience, preferably in a neonatal or intensive care setting.
• Registered nurse authorised to practice in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of the Nursing Scope of Practice and health promotion principles.
• Ability to perform evidence‑based assessments and deliver patient‑centred education.
• Commitment to professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
