Teacher of English – September Start

About the role

GEMS Education is seeking an experienced Teacher of English to join Jumeirah College in Dubai for a September start. The role involves delivering the National Curriculum for England to A‑Level students in a high‑performing, internationally diverse environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess English Language, Literature and Media Studies lessons for A‑Level cohorts.
• Prepare students for GCSE and A‑Level examinations, aiming for outstanding results.
• Contribute to the department’s curriculum development and enrichment activities.
• Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and foster positive student‑teacher relationships.
• Participate in school-wide initiatives, extracurricular programmes and pastoral care.

Required profile

• Minimum two years (24 months) of teaching experience in English up to A‑Level.
• Strong subject knowledge of English Language, Literature and Media Studies.
• Qualified with a B.Ed. or equivalent degree and PGCE/PGDE or comparable certification.
• Familiarity with the National Curriculum for England.
• Commitment to the development of a culturally aware, globally minded student body.
