Technician - DC Automation

About the role

The Technician – DC Automation is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting automated equipment in a distribution centre, ensuring high availability and safety of warehouse systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive and corrective maintenance on automated systems such as conveyors, sorters, pick/pack stations, ASRS and PLC‑based equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and control system issues to minimise downtime and calibrate sensors, actuators and electrical components.
• Collaborate with warehouse operations to resolve automation‑related interruptions and maintain detailed maintenance logs in line with SOPs.
• Ensure equipment complies with HSE and safety protocols, conduct inspections and report hazards.
• Document maintenance work, parts used and system modifications, generate technical reports and support root‑cause analysis and CAPA initiatives.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting warehouse automation or industrial equipment.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, PLC diagnostics and mechanical drive systems.
• Familiarity with WMS‑integrated automation equipment and HMI interfaces is preferred.
• Basic IT literacy for diagnostics, system updates and maintenance tracking.
