Trader – Industrial Applications

About the role

SOLEVO is seeking an experienced Trader to join its Industrial Applications team in Dubai. The role focuses on direct sales of chemicals and ingredients for the paint, construction, and mining sectors across the Middle East and Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Target customers and increase Solevo’s market share in the Industrial Applications segment.
• Identify and pursue new trading opportunities, managing the full value chain from sourcing to back‑to‑back sales.
• Provide pricing and offers to sales teams and direct clients within a 24‑hour window.
• Drive margin optimisation and manage risks related to FX, payment terms, and logistics.
• Coordinate with local subsidiaries to develop direct sales and distribution models.
• Serve as the commercial contact for strategic territories and support regional sales teams.
• Assess customer financial strength, propose credit conditions, and follow up payments with Finance.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and clients to secure favourable terms.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Execution, Purchasing, Logistics, Sales) to optimise the supply chain.
• Travel up to 30% of the time.

Required profile

• Proven experience in trading, commercial, or sales roles within chemical distribution, commodities, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of international trade, logistics, and supply‑chain processes.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with rapid turnaround times.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
