Workshop Planning Engineer

About the role

The Workshop Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring maintenance activities within the workshop. This role ensures optimal use of manpower, tools and parts to meet turnaround time commitments while providing accurate performance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Receive work scopes and shop‑visit requests from CAMO or Component Planning teams.
• Create detailed schedules for shop visits and allocate daily work targets to technicians.
• Monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and track work‑in‑progress in AMOS.
• Coordinate with Quality, Logistics, Tooling and Stores to secure parts, tools and documentation.
• Escalate any issues that could cause delays, such as material shortages or manpower constraints.
• Prepare post‑visit reports analysing turnaround time, labor hours, delays and findings.
• Participate in daily planning meetings and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Manage planning of materials, consumables and tooling, and support AMOS‑CROM & CMP projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in workshop maintenance planning within an airline or MRO environment.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly across departments and levels.
• Understanding of workshop processes, turnaround planning and human factors in aircraft maintenance.

Required skills

• Building and managing Gantt charts.
• Project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
• Maintenance software experience, preferably AMOS TRAX.
• Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
