AC Technician

About the role

The AC Technician will initially handle HVAC and air‑conditioning installation for a mock‑up building before the main project starts, then support ongoing mechanical installation and maintenance across the island site. The role requires hands‑on work with split‑system units and refrigerant piping while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission Direct Expansion (DX) split AC units.
• Lay, braze, insulate, and pressure‑test copper refrigerant lines.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC systems throughout the project facilities.
• Collaborate with the internal SML Mechanical Department to meet project standards and deadlines.
• Follow site safety guidelines, quality procedures, and MEP project specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of technical experience in HVAC/AC installation and maintenance.
• Previous work experience in the United Arab Emirates is mandatory.
• Proficiency in spoken English.
• Formal degree not required; demonstrated trade skills and practical experience are essential.

Required skills

• DX split AC unit installation and commissioning.
• Copper pipe laying, brazing, insulation, and pressure testing.
• Refrigerant piping and line handling.
• HVAC system maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
