Accountant – Finance Operations

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to support day‑to‑day finance operations. The role covers the full spectrum of accounting activities, from general ledger management to accounts payable, receivable, credit control and banking, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, maintain and reconcile GL accounts, and support chart of accounts.
• Process vendor invoices, manage payment runs, resolve supplier queries and reconcile vendor statements.
• Maintain customer ledger, handle invoice corrections, monitor receivables and produce aging reports.
• Upload daily bank transactions, perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist month‑end close, prepare financial reports and ensure accurate financial records.
• Uphold compliance with internal controls, company values and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 3‑5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA or CA) – part‑qualified or qualified is a plus.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, US GAAP and core accounting principles.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as CargoWise or eFreight suite.
• Advanced MS Excel skills – Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reporting.
• Proficiency in general ledger, AP/AR processing and bank reconciliation.
