Accountant

About the role

Canonical is seeking an Accountant to support its finance team as it prepares for a public offering. The role can be based in London or worked remotely within EMEA time zones, offering the chance to contribute to a global open‑source leader.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in month‑end reporting to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
• Take ownership of specific ledger processes aligned with your strengths.
• Support the year‑end audit and statutory reporting activities.
• Contribute to finance team initiatives preparing the company for an IPO.
• Improve efficiency of financial processes and monitor compliance.
• Share knowledge with team members to ensure coverage.
• Continuously develop personal expertise in applicable standards and regulations.
• Build strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation.

Required profile

• Exceptional academic record with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Qualified accountant designation (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with IFRS reporting.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Motivation to work in a fast‑growing, globally distributed environment.
