Adjuster

About the role

The Adjuster will ensure safe and efficient operation of elevators and escalators at client sites in Dubai. Working under the guidance of senior staff, the role involves safety checks, mechanical adjustments, and testing to meet Otis standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safety checks at all points before initiating work on site.
• Clean, lubricate and test the over‑speed governor.
• Check and correct static balancing of units and adjust final limits.
• Lubricate the Safety Action Mechanism and test according to procedures.
• Install door skates, set door locks and verify bolt tightness.
• Perform unit safety checks by travelling the car top through the shaft.
• Verify all electrical operations of the unit, including doors, buttons and intercom.
• Escalate concerns to the Supervisor and complete NCRs for process infractions and safety issues.
• Set contact parameters in the controller and adjust acceleration, deceleration and ride quality to Otis standards.
• Inspect motor pits and escalator steps for debris and clean as required.
• Test escalator movement by winding the motor for a full travel cycle.
• Prepare inspection reports, field test data, safety check reports and Otis safety audits.
