About the role
The school is seeking a dynamic, creative and organised Art & Design Technician to support practical learning in the secondary phase, starting January 2027. The role involves preparing and maintaining specialist materials and equipment for DT, Art and Food activities.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare labs, rooms, resources and equipment as directed by teachers.
- Assist teachers with DT, Art and Food related activities and run small‑group sessions.
- Maintain orderly workspaces and ensure readiness for the next lesson.
- Organise stock, create work displays and support the preparation of exhibitions.
Required profile
- Good level of general education, especially in Math and English.
- First aid certificate and health‑and‑safety training for DT equipment.
- Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle a range of tasks and relate well to children and colleagues.
Required skills
- Health and safety training using DT equipment and machinery
- First aid certification
- Basic knowledge of IT and/or CAD (computer‑aided design)
