Assistant / Associate / Full Professor, Internal Medicine

About the role

The Department of Internal Medicine, College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) at UAE University is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Internal Medicine (general or subspecialty). The college runs an internationally recognised, integrated, problem-based curriculum with strong research facilities, and its main missions are education and research, with clinical practice opportunities in affiliated teaching hospitals.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess undergraduate medical students and postgraduate master's students in clinical research
• Contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching programmes, including the Junior and Senior Internal Medicine Clerkships
• Take part in clinical services covering acute medicine and ambulatory outpatient care at an affiliated teaching hospital
• Contribute to research within the CMHS and with clinical colleagues in the affiliated teaching hospitals

Required profile

• MD or MBBS degree
• Evidence of advanced clinical and research training
• Board certification (or equivalent) in Internal Medicine from an accredited programme in North America, Australia, Europe or South Africa
• Eligibility to obtain a consultant licence under the current regulations of the Department of Health

Required skills

• Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience in university medical centres, medical colleges and affiliated teaching hospitals, including designing curricula, overseeing courses and supervising student projects
• A strong publication record of biomedical clinical research articles
• Familiarity with USMLE, Canadian qualifying examinations or equivalents, and accreditation of graduate medical programmes and certification/fellowship in North America, Australia, Europe or the Arab Board is desirable
