Assistant HSE Engineer

About the role

Assistant HSE Engineer at Mace supports the HSW team in delivering health, safety and wellbeing activities across assigned projects, applying technical knowledge to promote Safety First, strengthen compliance and contribute to safe, inclusive, high‑performing project environments.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of HSW policies, standards and guidance across the business.
• Coordinate inspection and audit schedules, supporting ISO and compliance reviews.
• Analyse reports, KPIs, corrective actions and audit outcomes to identify improvements.
• Build trusted stakeholder relationships and support mitigation plans aligned to Mace standards.
• Lead integrated teams to achieve programme, KPIs and client outcomes.

Required profile

• HSW experience with strong industry interest.
• IOSH Managing Safely Level 2 or equivalent.
• Willingness to achieve Level 3 Safety Management qualification.
• Collaborative, proactive and digitally confident communicator.
• Professional membership or equivalent development.
