Assistant Manager – Automation (Facilities)

About the role

Atlantis The Palm is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager – Automation to lead the maintenance, troubleshooting and improvement of automation systems supporting water rides, attractions, Animal Life Support Systems and related facility infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain safe, reliable operation of PLC, HMI, VFD, instrumentation and industrial communication networks.
• Develop, modify, test and maintain PLC/HMI software, perform commissioning, SAT support and post‑commissioning troubleshooting.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis, maintain technical records and improve preventive‑maintenance strategies.
• Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers and system integrators for upgrades, retrofits and technical support.
• Manage critical automation spares, support audits, inspections and certification activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics or Automation engineering.
• 10–12 years of hands‑on experience in industrial automation and control systems, preferably in critical operational environments such as water rides or aquatic facilities.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, MEP and ALSS teams.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting (Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Schneider or equivalent).
• Variable Frequency Drives (ABB, Siemens, PowerFlex, Danfoss).
• Industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, OPC).
• Electrical & control systems knowledge (MCCs, control panels, instrumentation, power distribution).
• Documentation management, RCA, preventive maintenance and asset lifecycle planning.
