Assistant Manager - Financial Crime Compliance

About the role

ADCB's Group Compliance & Governance unit is an independent function that manages risk and monitoring, ensures the Bank complies with laws, regulations and market standards, and prevents or detects financial crime and compliance breaches. As Assistant Manager - Financial Crime Compliance, you will review account openings, assess KYC and AML/CFT risks, investigate suspicious activity and support reporting to regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure account opening and KYC documentation is correct and up to date, and review client due diligence for AML/CFT and sanctions risks
• Document on-boarding decisions, advise on sanctions matches and sign off on account openings for higher-risk and PEP customers
• Assess risk of reviewed clients and decide on new account requests and existing relationship risk ratings
• Investigate system-generated alerts, build case files for suspicious transactions and update internal watchlists
• Contribute to MLRO-approved Suspicious Transaction Reports, respond to regulator and bank queries, and handle fund freezes and account blocks
• Close accounts and implement parameter changes in on-boarding, AML and sanctions systems, including testing and process improvements
• Support regulatory change projects and guide staff on handling high-risk accounts and transactions

Required profile

• At least 4 years of experience in banking compliance, branch or operations
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business Administration
• Understanding of account opening, customer documentation, transactions and local/international central bank rules

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Understanding of banking systems, reports and workflows
