Assistant Manager - Training & Development

About the role

Apparel Group is looking for an Assistant Manager to lead training and development across its corporate functions in the GCC. The role creates and implements training programmes, sets performance metrics, evaluates productivity and helps employees build long-term career plans within the company.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, plan and implement all training activities in the GCC for Corporate Functions, following existing policy and best practice, to support sales objectives.
• Initiate and develop new learning and development initiatives according to business needs, and create, communicate, coordinate and implement the annual training calendar for all brands.
• Monitor and guide the training team to improve conversion rates through effective training methods, and run cost-effective training solutions.
• Build product knowledge of new brands and train the training team accordingly; review employee feedback and recommend new materials and approaches.
• Ensure best training and development practices are followed, manage training delivery measurement and follow-up, and keep records.
• Design and implement training courses and modules for the organisation and individuals, including multi-cultural groups, and run in-store and leadership programmes.
• Visit or conduct training sessions at regional corporate offices to assess back-office staff skills through mock sessions or observation and give feedback.
• Motivate, supervise and guide the team, and handle manpower planning for the training department.

Required profile

• 1-3 years of experience in a related field such as training, human resources or retail operations is desirable.
• A proven track record of coordinating and facilitating training initiatives, adapting to the dynamic nature of retail and collaborating with stakeholders is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) is preferred.
• Strong communication, presentation and organisational skills are essential.
