Assistant Pharmacist

About the role

The Assistant Pharmacist supports the pharmacy operations by handling clerical duties, customer interactions, and inventory management. This role ensures efficient service delivery and compliance with MOH regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and greet patients/customers entering the pharmacy.
• Accurately dispense medication according to physician prescriptions.
• Manage phone calls, provide information, and handle cash register duties.
• Maintain inventory, restock shelves, and ensure proper storage of medicines.
• Implement and improve quality SOPs in line with MOH guidelines.
• Coordinate liquidation of slow‑moving or short‑shelf‑life stock and report to the purchase coordinator.
• Train and develop pharmacy staff, fostering teamwork and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Valid license to work as an Assistant Pharmacist with the relevant health authority.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider certification.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); Arabic proficiency is desirable.
• Willingness to work across departments as needed.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience using an ERP system for inventory and stock management.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record platforms for clinical documentation.
