Associate Head of Financial Planning & Analysis – Academic Services

About the role

The Associate Head of Financial Planning & Analysis serves as the dedicated FP&A Business Partner for the Academic Services vertical, supporting units such as the Provost Office, Academic Affairs and Student Services. Reporting to the Assistant Director of FP&A, the role combines strategic advisory, budgeting, forecasting and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end FP&A relationship with Academic Services leadership, providing recommendations, flagging material changes early and running regular touchpoints.
• Lead annual and multi‑year budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling for both Academic and Calendar year cycles, managing budget revisions, transfers and reserve draws.
• Prepare and present monthly financial results, variance analysis, KPI dashboards and ad‑hoc reports to senior leadership and governance forums.
• Mentor and review the work of the Senior FP&A Analyst and FP&A Specialist, driving capability building within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field; postgraduate qualification (MBA, CPA, ACCA, CFA) preferred.
• 10+ years progressive FP&A experience, preferably in higher education or complex matrix organisations.
• Proven track record as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, with strong communication and influencing skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with ERP and budgeting/forecasting tools, specifically Oracle Fusion/EPM.
• Expertise in financial modelling, scenario analysis, variance analysis and data analytics.
• Experience designing financial frameworks, governance standards and automated reporting templates.
