Associate Research Scientist, Process Optimization (Mechanical Engineering)

About the role

The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi is recruiting an Associate Research Scientist to work under the supervision of Professor Pradeep George in process optimization, with an emphasis on chemical vapor deposition (CVD). The successful applicant must have a strong background in computational fluid dynamics. The position is based in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality, innovative research in process optimization and CVD
• Publish research findings in scientific journals and conferences
• Mentor undergraduate students
• Take part in drafting research grant proposals

Required profile

• A PhD in mechanical engineering or a closely related field
• At least 3 years of relevant post-degree experience
• Strong background in computational fluid dynamics
• Familiarity with response surface modeling and optimization is a plus
• Experience with commercial codes such as ANSYS Fluent is desirable
