Associate Technical Product Owner - Web & Mobile

About the role

Emirates Group IT is looking for an Associate Technical Product Owner (ATPO) to join its Technical Product Management team in Dubai. The ATPO is the first step in the Technical Product Management succession path, acting as a voice of the customer and stakeholder so that value is central to everything they do. They work closely with Technical Product Managers and Technical Product Owners, turning prioritised feature details into decomposed story definitions for their teams.

Key responsibilities

• Work with teams to identify and capture team-driven innovation ideas, consolidating them across the peer group for review up to the TPM community.
• Own the story content, define acceptance criteria and obtain sign-off on stories across team backlogs, keeping them ready for future Program Increments and refined frequently with the team.
• Ensure technical debt and non-functional requirements are captured, refined and prioritised across all sprints, and include BAU, ceremony and spike activities within available capacity.
• Prepare contributions to the PI Demo with other stakeholders, and maintain the quality and integrity of features while feeding risks and dependencies back to the Product Portfolio backlog.
• Attend management meetings, especially PI Planning, and define metrics to measure the success of prioritised work.
• Help grow a community of Product Owners, improve practices, and contribute to the Portfolio Product Management Playbook.

Required profile

• Degree in Operations Research, Marketing Science, Information Systems, e-Commerce or a combination of industry certifications.
• 12+ years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a role inside or outside a technology function suitable for starting a product management career as an ATPO.
• Experience in a Scaled Agile framework is desirable but not essential.
