Aviation Engineering Faculty Member

About the role

The Faculty – Engineering (Aviation) position is focused on delivering high‑quality instruction to second‑language learners within a student‑centric environment. The role combines teaching, assessment, advising, research and service to support both student success and the institution’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver applied aviation engineering courses aligned with syllabus and program objectives.
• Utilise educational technology to enhance learning and provide continuous feedback through tests, projects and assignments.
• Advise and mentor students, including at‑risk support plans, internship supervision and regular office hours.
• Conduct applied research relevant to the division’s interests and national innovation priorities, and present findings at conferences.
• Participate in faculty, program and system‑wide committees, and sponsor student groups and community activities.
• Contribute to the development and preservation of institutional policies and support the implementation of HCT’s system‑wide strategy.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualification in engineering or a related field.
• Experience teaching in a second‑language environment and using student‑centered instructional approaches.
• Ability to conduct applied research and engage with industry and community partners.
• Willingness to serve on committees, advise student groups and support extracurricular activities.
